A Survey on EMF-Aware Mobile Network Planning

چکیده
Considering electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure from the radio frequency (RF) domain has always been critical in deploying new cellular network technologies. European countries implement strict limits to ensure that a radiating element such as antenna cannot exceed certain threshold vicinity of urban or densely populated areas. Before 5G, these could easily be managed with calculation methods during planning phase, i.e., before physical installation antennas. These previous-generation transmitters act statically, and it is usually simple respect EMF limit values while ensuring adequate quality performance for end-users. Current active systems benefit Massive MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) technologies precise beamforming Time Division Duplex (TDD). employed by 5G enable antennas behave dynamically time space, depending on distribution users applications targeted. This dynamic behaviour, together larger arrays, makes estimation RF-EMFs more complex, leading overestimations. In this paper, we investigate network-aware mobile programs, programs that can use mobility as a tool to adapt to variations in network characteristics. We present infrastructural support for mobility and network monitoring and show how adaptalk, a Java-based mobile Internet chat application can take advantage of this support to dynamically place the chat server so as to minimize response time....
متن کاملA Survey of Context-Aware Mobile Recommendations
Mobile recommender systems target on recommending the right product or information to the right mobile users at anytime and anywhere. It is well known that the contextual information is often the key for the performances of mobile recommendations. Therefore, in this paper, we provide a focused survey of the recent development of context-aware mobile recommendations. After brie°y reviewing the s...
متن کاملQoS-aware Mobile Middleware – A Survey
Mobile computing systems have non-functional properties that differ from fixed distributed systems due to the radio and mobile terminal characteristics. Traditional middleware does not manage these non-functional properties. Hence, the middleware must be designed specifically for mobile computing. Existing mobile middleware platforms and state-of-the-art research focus on handling network quali...
متن کاملPlanning for Network-Aware Paths
Communication in distributed applications across a wide area network needs to cope with heterogenous and constantly changing network conditions. A promising approach to address this is to augment the whole communication path with network awareness by using “bridging” components that are capable of caching, protocol conversion, transcoding, etc. While several such path-based approaches have been...
متن کاملLocality-Aware Network Solutions (A survey)
Building self-maintaining overlay networks for locating information in a manner that exhibits locality-awareness is crucial for the viability of large internets. It means that costs are proportional to the actual distance of interacting parties, and in many cases, that load may be contained locally. This survey paper describes several locality-aware networks that support distributed content-bas...
